Message from Chief Education Officer
Dear parent/carer
As you may be aware, the Scottish Government has announced changes to the plans to ease Covid-19 restrictions over the festive period and has also confirmed an extension to the school Christmas break.
Children and young people will now be on holiday from school from tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday) until Monday, January 11, and will then learn online at home until at least January 18.
The move has been made in response to concerns over a new strain of coronavirus and is one of a number of measures being taken to prevent and control the spread.
Our education team has been working on plans over the weekend to support our young people and families in January.
We are awaiting further detail from the Scottish Government and this information is expected later today. Once received, we will be in touch with you to confirm our plans including details on provision for vulnerable children and children of key workers. We will maintain free school meals for all entitled pupils.
Thank you for your continued support, patience and understanding.
Yours sincerely
Laura Mason

Change to Government Advice re periods of isolation - Contact and trace - 30/09/2020
Dear parent/carer,
Please note that Government guidance relating to periods of isolation for households has changed and the new guidance takes effect from today.
PLEASE NOTE
- The guidance remains that if a household member tests positive for Covid all other members of the household must isolate for 14 days.
-
As of today (Wednesday 30 September) due to a change to Scottish Government guidance, it is only the close contact of a positive COVID case that must self isolate NOT their siblings and families/household.
-
Any sibling or family member who is not the close contact can return to school/work tomorrow (Thursday 1 October).
If you or any member of your family therefore have been advised to isolate and are not the main identified contact, you can return to school/work from Thursday of this week.
Thank you once again for your ongoing patience during these challenging times and with the ever changing advice being generated.
Should you have any further questions, please contact the school office.
